James Forrest abandoned Celtic Park on Sunday wondering how he didn’t score, although scottish Premiership leaders Celtic claimed their three-point lead near the top of the table with a 3-1 win against Kilmarnock.
The Hoops winger hit the woodwork twice and has been denied occasions by Kilmarnock goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu, keeping him.
But after the ending of Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard’s brace curved off a comeback victory for Celtic, Forrest considers the numerous chances produced by the Scottish champions was a favorable signal.
Forrest stated:”Their goalkeeper was appropriate up for it right from the beginning and he made a great few saves.
“He made us work for your goals, but it is always tough against Kilmarnock, home or off.
“There are some games at the season if you might get 1 opportunity and you score.
“Then there are people such as yesterday I had four or five chances, but it simply didn’t occur.
“But it shows you are playing well and with confidence when you are getting plenty of chances. If you keep doing the perfect things then the goals will come”
Celtic have won their first six league games turn their focus with Partick Thistle around Wednesday to their Scottish League Cup quarter-final and to sit three points clear of Rangers.
Forrest included:”Since we arrived back in pre-season we have been to a lot of areas in various competitions.
“We are on a fantastic run and we had a great win on Sunday.
“We are back here on Wednesday and it is another major match, ” the quarter-final of this [League] Cup, thus we need to get ready and move again.”
