Jon Rahm delighted with home title defence at Open de Espana

After successfully defending his Open de Espana name with a victory in Madrid, jon Rahm has set his sights in a Spanish three-peat.
Rahm became the Spaniard to reach five European Tour victories and moved top of this Race to Dubai standings following a dominant display on home soil.
The world extended his advantage with an eagle and four birdies along having a penultimate-hole bogey and required a direct his only blemish in an 66.
I am not happy I three-putted 17, Rahm said. I wished to go bogey-free, but in the close of the day I did the significant thing, I was able to effectively defend it in the front of the home crowd.
It might not be the strongest field yet but its always very tough for me to keep everything in check and to play the weekend which I did for these is always really fun.

Rahm battle came prior to finishing his bogey-free 66 in Rafa Cabrera Bello, who opened with 12 consecutive pars on the last day.
Id have liked to find some birdies early to put some pressure on Jon, however didnt happen today, Rahm said. I had to hang in there, fight for the next place and I was very happy that the birdies came at the conclusion.
He already had a huge lead from the beginning. You could see that dip in half three or four holes and it changes your view – but that did not occur, but it went another way.
After he eagled four, seven shots proved to be a commanding lead. It was his championship and that he played great. All I could do was concentrate on my ball, attempt to finish second and I was able to accomplish that.
