The NBA draft lottery is an annual event held by the National Basketball Association (NBA), in which the teams who’d missed the playoffs the previous year participate in a lottery process to determine the draft order from the NBA draft. The NBA Draft lottery began in 1985. From the NBA draft, the teams get the rights to amateur U.S. school basketball players and other qualified players, including global players.
