Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka ‘close’ to signing new contract

Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has confirmed he’s”close” to signing a new contract at St James’ Park.
His current deal is seen by Even the 30-year-old Magpies number one die in 2022 but appears set to be given with enhanced terms because of his performances.
“We are in discussions. I’m close,” he explained. “We are in contact and hopefully we can sort it out as soon as possible.
“I am happy here so if I will stay longer here, I will be glad. People have treated me really well, since I came here. I am able to say I feel at home .
“I am happy that folks think that I can stay here to the longer-term. It is such a huge honour for me personally.”
Dubravka – who is also the Slovakia number one with 16 caps – signed from Sparta Prague for Newcastle last summer following an initial loan deal.
He has made 55 appearances for Newcastle because, maintaining 16 Premier League sheets that were clean.
