Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confident David de Gea will sign new Manchester United contract

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains confident Manchester United can persuade David de Gea to signal a new contract, despite and protracted talks no breakthrough.
Widespread reports at the conclusion of last season claimed the Spain goalkeeper was near to signing up a bargain that was new but Solskjaer has admitted he is in the dark about the discussions have grown since then.
De Gea’s present deal expires in the close of the season and Solskjaer considers the 28-year-old, whom he considers”the best’keeper in the world”, needs to stay at Old Trafford – but within only four weeks’ period , he can start to go over contracts with overseas clubs.
“I am very – well – I’m pretty confident it will get sorted. He is not said anything other than that he adores this club and would like to stay here, and he has had a wonderful time,” Solskjaer said ahead of the Premier League visit of Leicester on Saturday.
“You need to ask David along with also the club [how conversations are moving ]. I’ve not been involved in the talks. Let’s just hope we get it done on the line.
“He can see what we’re doing here. We want the players and those we want – all the time – remain. There aren’t many that we would like to maintain that we do not manage to.
“I’m confident we will can convince David that here is the potential for him and a prosperous future.”
Solskjaer succeeded goalkeepers given the doubt over the future of Dea Gea are being scouted by United – however, insists he is happy with his goalkeeping department.
“We are constantly mindful of occurring around the world [along together with other goalkeepers] – but my attention and also the club’s focus would be to persuade him (De Gea) to stay,” he said.
“I have two very good backup keepers here in Lee (Grant) and Sergio (Romero), and Dean (Henderson) is out on loan [in Sheffield United]. The goalkeeper division is in great health.
“Whenever David concedes a target, it is headlines, that he must have rescued it. Whenever a game is lost by us – and we’ve lost just one since July 1 – it seems like we’re really fighting. That is just the way it is here and you need to handle it. Possess confidence that is robust and You’ve got to be resilient.
“David’s fine. I really don’t worry about him whatsoever.”
